The AIDS Institute applauds Florida Governor Rick Scott and the Florida legislature for increasing state funding to the Florida AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) as part of the 2012 state budget recently approved by the Legislature and signed by the Governor.
Thank you for approving an increase of $2.5 million of Florida’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program, popularly known as ADAP. Your authorization of the ADAP budget increase from general revenue shows remarkable leadership in the ongoing fight against HIV and AIDS in our state.

The Florida HIV/AIDS Advocacy Network (FHAAN) is a statewide effort comprised of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA’s), community advocates, HIV/AIDS and industry professionals, and anyone wanting to be involved to coordinate HIV advocacy efforts for all Floridians living with HIV and AIDS.
National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day is a national campaign highlighting the complex issues related to HIV prevention, care and treatment for aging populations in the United States.
The AIDS Institute has maintained the primary role of promoting action for social change through public policy research, advocacy, and education. Students are an integral part of the organization’s mission to positively impact the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS. An internship with The AIDS Institute provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in a real world nonprofit setting; learn about organizational infrastructure; interact among a collaborative team work environment; and develop effective management skills.
